Are you tired of spending your evenings and weekends for months sanding the paint off your car? Have it plastic media blasted to remove that old paint in just a day or two.

What is plastic media blasting –PMB ?

Plastic media blasting is a process used to for the rapid removal of coatings on materials. The method does not involve toxic chemical strippers, burn off systems, sandblasting, hand or mechanical abrasion methods. In the case of automobiles paint is removed.  The process is similar to sand blasting and uses the same type of equipment but instead of sand plastic bits with the texture of large corn meal is used to chip away the paint. Since plastic is a non-toxic compound, the process is eco-friendly.

Plastic media blasting uses high volume air and low pressure to propel the plastic into the paint which results in the paint being chipped away. The process does not create the heat that is generated by normal sand blasting and is therefore safe to use on thin metal. Sand blasting thin metal could cause warping of metal if not done very very carefully. The metal surface when sand blasted is pitted and feels like sandpaper. When plastic media is used to remove the paint the metal surface under the paint is virtually unaffected by the plastic media process. However, rust is not removed by plastic. Loose rust is blown away but the basic rust problem is still there to be dealt with by other procedures.

PMB –plastic media blasting—is less aggressive than sand so it can be used on a wide variety of projects with less concern for damaging results. Fiberglass i.e. Corvettes and boats can have the paint removed. Since the surface (gel-coat) under the paint is relative soft compared to metal, after Paint removal the surface is more like the surface of an orange. Body filler can be removed or left in place depending on the thickness and/or customers’ desires.

Turn around time for the typical car/truck is 1-2 days depending on amount of work that needs to be done. Piece work can be done while you wait. All work is done by appointment.

We will come to local car club meetings to explain the process if there is an interest. We also welcome clubs/individuals to schedule an on site visit for a better understanding of Plastic Media Blasting and the service we can provide.

My dad has this yellow long Tonka truck. I can’t really find on there that will help me. Except it does say ‘Gas Turbine’ on the door. but you can’t really see it unles you look close. i would like to have some web sites i can go to to see how much it is. Please Help!!!

Check out neatoldtoys.com. Have several links. Unfortunately, the Gas Turbine isn’t a very highly collectible item just yet. Made in mid-60’s to late ’70’s to resemble the ford turbine vehicle. Ebay has a few on auction you can search through and get ideas of what they o for. Depending on your model, being yellow, sounds like it was the tractor for a car hauler or sand dump. may be able to bring $20-$60 dependng on condition and who wants it.

I have an 1930 Durant 6-14 Coupe and it need new wooden support beams. Anyone know where i can get them?

For the Durant you may have to make them yourself.
try this site I’ve found it to be a great source for old cars

The kind that shoot plastic pellets.

I assume you are referring to the cache of weapons seized from the home of that 14-year old boy in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. I read the reports on the local CBS affiiliate’s news site in Philadelphia and downloaded some of the video as well. They clearly indicated one of the weapons was a 9-MM assault rifle and the others were air guns.
But, since one of my sons was shot in the eye by one of those "plastic guns" many years ago and had to undergo delicate surgery to save that eye, I would hardly call such a weapon not real.
